Hi! I'm Amanda. A lover of all things travel and planning with a keen eye for detail and an empathetic approach to life.
I pride myself on not only being able to create travel itineraries to give you the trip of a lifetime, but I believe that as an empath I am especially well equipped to deliver a personalized itinerary that is 100% YOU.

How it works
When you work with me, I take care to ensure that your trip is completely tailored to you. Here's what that process looks like from start to finish!
- You can request a free 15 minute consultation so we can discuss your travel plans and I can fill you in on the process.
- After the consultation, you will be sent a Google Form to fill out to help me get to know you and your travel goals/needs better.
- Once the form is received, you will be sent a link via email to purchase the custom trip itinerary package of your choice (set by duration of trip).
- Once purchased, I will begin creating your custom trip itinerary and will deliver it within one week!
What's included in your custom trip itinerary:
- Detailed daily itinerary for each day of your trip including activities, tour information etc
- Accompanying maps with labelled itinerary items to visualize your every day adventures
- Accommodation options depending on your preferences (this is discussed in Google Form)
- Restaurant recommendations by area (if your destination is larger)
- Tips for visiting your particular destination on a budget (or for getting extra fancy if you want!)
- Transportation tips: public transit guide, trusted ride-share companies etc
- Recommended packing list for destination specific items
- List of documents to prepare/apps to download prior to your departure
- What to know about your destination: tipping, currency, energy conversion, embassy location etc.
- Further recommendations tailored to your ideal trip if requested

What destinations do you offer?
It is important to me that I deliver an itinerary that is not only tailored to YOU, but is something I can personally vouch for. Therefore, my offered destinations are either somewhere I've been more than once or somewhere I have lived. The options are as followed:
- Montreal, QC
- Quebec City, QC
- San Francisco, CA
- NYC, NY
- Costa Rica (various areas)
- London, UK
How much does a custom itinerary cost?
The price of the package you choose will depend on the length of your trip. For example:
- 1-3 Day trip: $140 CAD
- 4-6 Day trip: $195 CAD
- 7+ Day trip: $260+ CAD
If your trip is longer than 7 days, or is in between intervals, we will discuss pricing in our initial (free) consultation so you have a clear idea of costs before we begin!
What is your return policy?
Do to the personalized nature of this service, we're unable to offer refunds once the itinerary package has been purchased.
In this case, it is recommended that you are 100% sure you will be taking your trip prior to purchasing this service.
Additionally, please note that once the package has been purchased, you will have 24 hours to communicate any revisions needed that are contrary to the information provided in the consultation and the Google Form. You can reach out to amanda@thehappyplacetravel.com to do so.
Not to worry, though! This is also why we offer a free, no-risk initial consultation so we can iron out your travel plans, and you can decide afterwards if you're ready to purchase!
Will you book my trip for me?
While we offer extensive and personalized planning services, we do not personally book your trip for you.
With this service, you will be given a proposed itinerary with everything you need to book your reservations on your own and select which activities you'd like to include in your trip.
Should you have any questions about booking, feel free to let us know during your consultation or on the provided Google Form and we will do our best to help answer your questions!
When can I expect my completed trip itinerary?
Once the trip planning package is purchased, you will receive your customized trip plan within 1 week unless otherwise discussed.
This is to ensure that everything is carefully researched and put together, and that you receive it well before your departure date.
If you have a last-minute trip coming up and would need an expedited itinerary, let us know and we'll be happy to accommodate (charges may apply)!
Can you offer flight recommendations?
Absolutely! If you have concerns about booking your flights, or are a nervous/beginner flyer, let us know during our consultation or on the Google Form and we can offer some quick tips for booking your flight.
What if I have food restrictions?
No worries! You can bring this up in the consultation or include the details in the Google Form, and we'll do our best to find restaurant suggestions that may work for you!
Restaurant info and menus will be linked (when available) in your final itinerary package, so you can check them out and determine if it's a good fit!
How can I contact you if I have questions?
From the initial consultation through to the final delivery of the completed itinerary package, you are absolutely free to email us with any questions or concerns you may have!

What type of doc will the itinerary be delivered in?
The entire itinerary package will be delivered in a single PDF via email (size of file depending).
When available, links will be provided in the PDF to ensure that every client is able to access them regardless of device.
